Safeguarding at SC Choirs
We take the well being and safety of all our members very seriously.
SC Choirs is committed to keeping our choristers safe, both in rehearsals and the wider community or at performances. As part of our safeguarding arrangements, we have a designated safeguard lead - Mrs Sue Bailey MBE- who is also one of our trustess. She is highly experienced in safeguarding procedures and already works closely with young people, volunteers and families to ensure that young people are safe whilst they are in our care.
Our music team, which includes our accompanists, and all of our chaperones are fully DBS checked. Many of our staff and volunteers work with young people professionally outside of the choir too. Regular safeguard training is also undertaken by our staff and volunteers via the NSPCC or or safeguarding advisor, Sue Baily. We ensure that we are fully staffed at rehearsals and during performances, including choir trips. We also appoint one trained first aider per event.
If you have any queries or concerns, or would like a copy of our safeguarding policy, please contact Pat Joyce, our lead chaperone, via our contact form.
