Our Accompanist Team
We have very accomplished pianists who accompany our choirs. Their sensitive accompaniment has frequently been highlighted at choral competitions!
Chris began playing the piano at the age of seven and by fifteen won the ABRSM prize for the highest regional distinction at grade 8. During his teenage years he also enjoyed playing jazz as principal pianist for the East Norfolk Youth Jazz Orchestra. After completing his music A-level he went on to study music at the University of Huddersfield between 1991 and 1995 where he specialised in performing on piano and harpsichord under Ronald Newton and Dr. Graham Cummings.
In 2002-2004 Chris studied at the Birmingham Conservatoire where he gained his Post Graduate Diploma in music performance under the instruction of the concert pianist Philip Martin and the head of keyboard studies Professor Malcolm Wilson as well as the world renowned teacher Beryl Chempin. |
